GRS stands for "Global Recycling Scheme". GRS certified products are made from verified recycled materials, with a tracable supply chain from the original source. To be GRS certified a product must contain at least 50% recycled materials. Prevented Ocean Plastic is a brand name built by a small team dertermined to make a difference. Operating around the world, the programme targets areas that do not benefit from established recycling infrastructure such as South East Asia, South America, Africa, the Carribean and the Galapagos Islands to many a few.  The scheme operates with fragile communities providing employment and income-generating opportunities as well as tackling the global issues of ocean polluting plastic. Disregarded plastic bottles are collected from areas upto 30 mile distance of an ocean coastline or major waterway that feeds into the ocean at risk of ocean plastic pollution. The bottles are then sorted locally and pressed for transportation to plastic recycling factories. All plastic is washed and sanitised into raw material flakes and pellets according to European and North American quality standards ensuring the material is provided with a certified tracability from coastline collection into a selection of Prevented Ocean Plastic Products. This is a great story your brand can support through your own branded merchandise.
